pair Gio Ponti Black Lacquered Side Tables from Hotel Royal, Naples, 1955

Pair of luggage-racks, side tables designed by Gio Ponti and executed by Giordano Chiesa for Hotel Royal, Naples 1955 in 2005 arch. Cristina Longo used original items from Hotel Royal in Naples and she has made 10 limited edition pair of stands in black lacquered for a private residence in Rome, Italy (published in AD Italy, March 2010) Italian lacquered walnut, brass. Brass details: Handles, foot and seven sections on top (each Stand) Measures: Height 65 cm; 65x 42 cm, height without handle 51,5 cm These items comes directly from the original furniture of the Hotel in Naples (original Hotel Royal invoice). Lorenzo Ciompi, the owner of Compendio Gallery, bought in the 90' all the furniture of the Hotel Royal and some of these piece are now in Triennale of Milano, in Design Museum in London and sold in important auctions during last years ( Chiristie's, Sotheby's Phillips, Piasa..). very good original condition; very good patina a pair of luggage racks from the same provenience of gallery, in a different wood essence, was sold from Phillips Auction in march 2019 at £30.000 (€35.000).
