Elegant and rare Gio Ponti black toilette, vanity table - dressing table produced by Giordano Chiesa for the Hotel Royal , 1955 Black lacquered Italian ash, brass, two drawers brass feet Measures: H 78cm, 95 x 46.5 cm; top: 45 x 94.5 cm total height with the mirror: 123 cm copy of original invoice of the Hotel Royal is available on request Sold with a copy of a letter of authentication from Lisa Licitra Ponti. the original Fontana Arte mirror are available on request but not included in the price Very good original condition Architect Cristina Longo laquared in black in 2005's the original Gio Ponti vanity toilette for a private commision in Rome in limited edition of 10. available a pair of black vanities on request Provenance: Hotel Royal Naples, Private collection, Rome Lorenzo Ciompi, owner of the Compendio Gallery, purchased all the furniture from Hotel Royal Continental in Naples at late 1990' included the vanities.Most of the vanity desk sold in the market and in the international auction comes from this collection. One identical vanity was sold in Paris on Italian Selected Design in Piasa Auction 30/10/2009 at € 19.500.
